This is my second tattoo. Its a sort of scrimshaw and antique engraving mix. For me it represents many things including my enthusiasm for history and the history of New England in particular, my sense of belonging to an amazing community in Portland, my appreciation for tradition and civic participation, and an emotional connection with the sea as a place of renewal. The buildings in the center are based on a late nineteenth-century post card depicting the Portland Observatory, the old Fire Barn, and the old St. Lawrence Church on Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine.
This was my girlfriend’s first traditional tattoo. It was done by Jesse WIlson at Artistic Design in Indianapolis. Jesse is an amazing tattooer, and I recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Indy.
Hello, this is my third tattoo, done by Naomi at The Tattooed Heart in Auckland, New Zealand.
I got it done at the end of my trip trough New Zealand because this 5 months journey made me find myself while discovering amazing places.
A lighthouse means to me finding peace through the storm. Above it you can read 36°59’22” 174°28’22” which is the location of the most peaceful place I’ve ever seen in the whole world. I got this tattoo because I felt, at this location, that I was getting over my depression and my sadness, and it makes me think about how happy I can be if I decided to.
This is for all the people who’ve guided me and kept me on track throughout my life. Done by Yurgo at Explicit Tattoo in Suffern, New York.
Previously submitted but I didn’t see it go though, also it’s healed now so nothing is swollen.. done by Randy Jensen at Infinity tattoo in Standish Maine
This tattoo is for my late cousin as a reminder of a special night we spent together goofing off.

I just this idea from a wind chime that has been hanging on my front door for years, and it simply reminds me that home is where the heart is.

my shin done by brian marsman at powerhouse tattoo. i got this to honor my family for sticking it out through all of the shit i’ve put them through. if you ever want any work done, go to brian at powerhouse in montclair, nj!
Light house by face the fact, Linz, Austria.
Something for my family. The wood fireplace is to represent the “origin”. The light house is because the family is your guide.
There is a motto “Love your family”
This is my shin done by Brian Marsman at Powerhouse Tattoo in Montclair, NJ. I got this as sort of a tribute to my family for still supporting me through all the shit i’ve put them through over the years. Brian Marsman is the man, and does some amazing work, if you need anything, please make sure to go to him at Powerhouse!
My best mate Reece (left) and myself (right). He is a disability support worker and I am a counsellor. We felt like the lighthouse tattoo’s would be an adequate and symbolic testament to the kind of work we do.
